This policy explains what PokéCheck does with your information. It is short because the app collects very little.
The card database — names, sets, rarities and reference prices for more than 23,000 cards — ships inside the app. Searching and browsing happen entirely on your phone, and we never see what you look up.
Booster pack openings are generated on your device and are not recorded anywhere. Which cards you pulled is not sent to us or stored.
Creating an account stores your email address and an encrypted password with Supabase, our hosting provider. We use it only to identify you and to keep your collection attached to you.
Your collection stores card identifiers, quantities and any condition or purchase price you enter. Nothing else is attached to it.
Searching and browsing need no account. Scanning a card and opening the daily pack do, so their limits follow you rather than the phone you happen to be holding.
When you scan a card, the photo is sent to Google's Gemini service, which reads the printed name and collector number and returns them as text. The match against the card database then happens on your device.
Photos are sent for that single purpose. We do not store them, and they are not kept in your account. Google processes them under its own terms.
If the app is offline, or that service is unavailable, scanning falls back to an offline image match that runs entirely on your phone and sends nothing anywhere.
If you allow price alerts, your device's push token is stored with your account so we can reach that device, along with the platform it runs on and when it was last seen. Your alert settings — whether alerts are on, and how big a price move has to be — are stored the same way.
Turning notifications off in the app stops the alerts. Deleting your account removes the token and the settings with it.
Live prices are fetched from TCGdex, a public card price service. Those requests contain the card being viewed and nothing that identifies you.
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment details. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier so your purchase can be restored on your other devices.
We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising trackers. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not share your information with anyone beyond the services named above, each of which is used only to make a specific feature work.
Deleting your account removes your email address, your collection, your alert settings and any stored push token from our systems. Write to us from the address on the account and it will be done.
Uninstalling the app removes everything held on your device, including your free price reveal, your free scans and the daily pack timer.
PokéCheck is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the app will show the new version before the change takes effect.
